Here's a basic step for entering long or short positions in NinjaTrader.
Set an entry at the price you want
This is a function that makes a preposition to enter a position when the desired price is reached. In NinjaTrader, you can easily specify it by right-clicking on the chart.
There is currently a market with a market price of 21226.75.
If you right-click on a price lower than the market price, the four options for entering a position are displayed as shown below.
The ordering options for each are as follows:
Buy Limit: Buy when the right-clicked price drops
Buy MIT (Market If Touched): If the right-clicked price drops, buy at the market price
Sell Stop Market: If the right-clicked price drops, sell at the market price
Sell Stop Limit: Sell when the price you right-clicked on drops
If the transaction price is more important, enter a fixed price transaction; if quantity is more important, enter the market price.
Conversely, if you right-click on a price higher than the market price, the following will be displayed.
Sell Limit: Sell up to the right-clicked price
Sell MIT: If the right-clicked price rises, sell at the market price
Buy Stop Market: Buy at the market price if the right-clicked price rises
Buy Stop Limit: Buy when the right-clicked price rises
